Dan Brown (The Da vinci code)
he writes some great book's. I think they are Making a Da Vinci code movie.

i didn't say i liked the idea, they will never get the charactors right! look at Harry potter (Bad exsample, i don't like it) they didn't fit half the book into a movie!

Manga: Kazuya Minekura (Saiyuki, Wild Adapter, Bus Gamer, Stigma) and Kouta Hirano (Hellsing)
Non-Manga: Bram Stoker (Dracula), Alexander Dumas (Count of Monte Christo, The Three Musketeers), and Gaston Leroux (Phantom of the Opera) I read a lot of classics o.o;;; Emily Rodda is pretty good too (Deltora Quest) but those books are really easy reads so ya... o.o; Also Lois Lowry and Anne Rice are good too o.o;
