Can someone help figure this out?

when I click the spoiler button, this appears instead of the black hidey-thing.

Well, that is what you should see in your Message Body box.

Write your spoiler information. Highlight it and then hit the "spoiler" button.

Scroll down just a bit, and hit preview. You should see it blacked out.
If your preview is blacked out, you post should appear that way.

If that doesn't work, you'll have to ask the webmaster.

My spoiler tag doesn't work!

Your spoiler doesn't work because you have the "Disable BBCode in this post" checkbox checked. You can check and uncheck this on a per-post basis, however I also see that it's checked by default for all of your posts because in your profile you set the "Always allow BBCode" option to "No".

Durrrp. That was easy .... and I learned something new to look for.
