Yes. If he had brought his full strength and not allowed Kenshin to distract him he would have won easily.

i believe that's a no... kenshin has a stronger mind which also makes him strong... and that is what i believe.

Seta is strong, and his speed is better than Kenshin's. but he lacks strong self structure, allowing kenshin to kill him. seta is a warped kid, misled and mistreated, and though he is very stoic, kenshin can see right through him.

well i dont know lol i mean when first sight it look like Kenshin could of beated him, but somehow Soujiro pull out the upset and made it a tie so i think if Soujiro goes mroe independent then yes

Sou-sama was mistreated and mislead as OniRuroken said. Whereas Kenshin had a bit of more self-structure because he was taught by a good sensei.

well you know if ever seta met a more better sensei than shishio he may be more stronger than kenshin to think that he can move faster than kenshin lol it's a big difference already and come on age does matter sometimes seta is younger therefore well as other's say you can't teach an old dog some new tricks.(lol no offense).

Sojirou has the speed and the ability to mask his emotions, making it difficult for Kenshin to predict his moves. Kenshin however, has skill and experience. Men like him and Saitou who have lived through war and bloodshed will almost always find a way to beat the young, promising newcomers.

In the anime, Kenshin psycho-babbled Sojirou into cracking, but in the manga, something about Kenshin's presence caused Sojirou to crack. The only thing Kenshin said to him was, "If it's not too late, can there be another chance?"
