Absolute Anime

well my personal preference is dubbed anime. yea yea beat up on me as much as you like since i know almost everyone like sub to dub. lol. anyway i just wanted to know if anyone knows when naruto is going to be dubbed. i have just recently started watching anime and this is my second one ive looked at. any help is very... helpful. thanks

Naruto is in the process of being dubbed. Naruto will be shown on Cartoon Network in the fall.

Naruto was only licensed recently in the US. There may be fandubs floating around the internet, but fandubs usually aren't very good.

I hope the real dubbed versions.. would be good... lol.

++ You don't know off hand which studio bought the rights do you? Hope its ADV. I really like their stable of talent; translators, scriptwriters and voice actors. They did the first Saiyuki and the dub was GREAT. Genon got the rights to Reload and butchered it.

Regarding fan subs -- some of the best translations I've ever seen were fan subs. The one I remember in particular was Fushigi Yugi. A Japanese girl and an American boy, each studying the other’s language, were doing the translation. Their production notes at the end of each episode were great.

FUNimation has the rights. Steven Blum is working on adapting the script for TV broadcast.

They do ok but I don't have a lot of confidence with it being made to air on American TV. I know what happened to Outlaw Star, Escaflowne, etc.

So far, the Naruto community to split between the hardcore fans, and everyone else.

The hardcore fans just think it will be butchered just as if 4Kids had it. Hardcore fans don't want anything dubbed, sorry to say.

Everyone else knows CN won't let FUNimation do too much to it, since CN wants Naruto to be the next DBZ. Creative language edits, and less blood is what everyone else expects.

Well, Cartoon Network is cable and therefore not as bad as broadcast. Too bad they're not going to leave it alone and put it on Adult Swim. Oh, well.

It is suppose to be on Toonami in the fall.

The dubbing's taking place at Studiopolis in Los Angeles (same place Zatch Bell was dubbed). This means California talent: top potential for good work.

Oh, and Blum's confirmed as playing Kakashi.
