Absolute Anime

i was wondering if anytone could tell me what anime this is. I cant remember the name of it ya see. Basically, at the beginning, this guy looking through rubbish, which keeps getting dumped from a city like a mile in the air.he finds a broken cyborg/robot girl and ends up repairin her. Thid young guy he knows falls in love wi her. She ends up becoming a bounty hunter or somat. Towards end of film, the guy whose in love with her gets shot and killed, and brought back as a robot himself. At the very end of the film he tries getting to that city in the air by going across some sewage pipes or somat, but ends up getting killed. If anyone knows what film it is let us no asap, i no explanation not too good, sorry

That's what i thought too. Uhmmm this sounds kinda Robocopish. Full Metal Alchemist??? Or even Ghost in the Shell. I'm not clear on these, since i haven't seen them.

I know its not ghost in the shell coz ive seen it and almost everyone are cyborgs. and full metal alcamist is about a boy and his brother, the metal one is the younger brother. I am sorry I cant help you nameing this anime.

It's FAR from FLCL... need i rmind you that the city lies in a valley for one?

anyway.. it seems like an anim I heard about... I think it was called Akira... at least some parts sound about right for that... don't know exactly... but that might be a good place to start...

I didn't vote for FLCL?!?!? I was thinking of it, but then i recalled the anime because i watched it. Yes its not even close to FLCL. Uhmmm Castle in the Sky...No that can't be it. The girls was a cyborg.

Demonhunter, just for the record, not everyone in Ghost in the Shell are cyborgs. Togusa is fully human except the sub-brain he has, and Aramaki is human as well.

I thought it was Chobits at first, but Battle Angel is right. =)
