I think the Recca manga is better but the Saiyuki anime is way better than the recca anime.

Flame of Recca is good and all but I prefer Saiyuki FAR over FoR ^ ^.. Saiyuki would win hands down.

Flame of Recca is in the rental queue so I really can't say anything other than Saiyuki is going to be tough to beat.

Saiyuki or Gensoumaden Saiyuki is truly the best. Sure, Flame of Recca is good, but Saiyuki is MUCH better. The animations were smooth, the storyline was great, comedy was there, the action scenes were thrilling, great characters with great personalities... it's really unique. So, Saiyuki for me and forever! ^_^
