i had that roy mustang was a Lt. Colonel. then i heard from another site that he is a colonel. does anyone know which one he is?

I think he's Lt. Colonel. That's how Al referred to him.

He didnt die on duty =_=.. He just got wounded...

no he died. he was killed by envy. you must not have seen the episode of them burying him. his little daughter crying and such cuz she didn't understand. "mommy, why are they burying daddy?"

Bradley = Fuhrer
Beauricrats = Generals
Hakuro = Major General
Basque Gran = Brigadier General
Mustang = Colonel
Archer/Hughes = Lt. Colonel
Alchemists = Major
And who cares about the lower ranked personel~

I'm pretty sure Mustang was promoted during the course of the show.
But no, Mustang does not die.
Hughes does, and is promoted posthumously.

Mustang, during the course of the show, goes from Lieutenant Colonel (when a certain someone gets offed; not sayin' who,) to Colonel, to General. Hope that helps! ^-^
