i guess it could depend (you're bringing out the critic in me).
the plot of the story i would give a 10.
the characters of the story i would give a 8. they just don't seem to really change at all, really.
the animation of the series i would give a 8. sometimes they just seem to rush through (scenes where Kagome looks rather chubby in the face and stuff).
the underlying themes of the story i would give a 10. every time i think about the thick morals that they beat you over the head with constantly from the show, i remember humerously the white/black boards that they do on thursdays (when inu was on thursdays) on adult swim. one read 'have you ever thought that maybe the show inuyasha was really trying to push the issue of predjuice in soceity by personifying it onto characters?' or something like that and adult swims response was like '.......you think so? duh?' stupid, but true.

I've seen one episode of InuYasha on Adult Swim involving a female webspinner and floating dead people with butcher knives where he's told not to hurt them and some girl falls down a well before the webspinner can kill her.
Based on that, the voice acting, script, and art didn't strike me as anything special and sometimes just ridiculous (concerning the script). As for story I can't really judge since I haven't seen the rest of it.
I'd rate 4 of 10 based on the above. Usually I can get a feel for whether or not I'm going to like a series by a simple viewing and this one doesn't seem my type unlike a series such as Outlaw Star where I immediately decided I wanted it after viewing an episode (the ending music helped :p).

uugh...no, i didnt give it a one. I gave it a 15 and thats higher than 10! it means i think the show is awsome so it deserves a number higher than 10!
