in the feudal era, america wasnt around yet, so they wouldnt really speak english like that ^_^ if they spoke english, it would be like "ye" and "thou" and "thy" and stuff!
...just pointing that out

Good point but the Anime was translated into English which we say Thy, Thou, and Ye I'm sure it's differnt in the Japanese version
