Character Profile: Allelujah Haptism

Out of the four Gundam Meisters, Allelujah is the gentle one. He isn't necessarily kind like Lockon, though that isn't to say he is unkind either. Allelujah is the Meister who hates fighting the most and especially hates killing others. On his first mission that involved killing (Episode 02, Season 1) Allelujah says, "With this, I've turned into a murderer. However... This is Celestial Being!" And he indeed pushes away his discomfort about killing by relying on Celestial Being's goal of eliminating war.

Allelujah remains gentle, and often a little unsure of his role. But when human lives are at stake, he will not hesitate to disobey orders and break secrets to save those lives. He could also be described as the shy one, producing a comedic moment when he walked in on Lockon and Feldt in a quiet moment of bonding (Episode 09, Season 1). Another wonderful word to describe Allelujah might just be practical. Whenever danger is certain, Allelujah is the one who raises voice about the concerns and, unfortunately, is shot down and made to look slightly coward-like.

As E-0057, one of the subjects of the Human Reform League's Super Soldier project, Allelujah experienced an extreme amount of mental stress, and developed an alter ego, a second personality that he named Hallelujah. Hallelujah embodies all the negative emotions possible, sparing Allelujah from further pains. Hallelujah often appears to save Allelujah from trouble. Most of the time this involves Allelujah's encounters with Soma Peries, as the brain waves generated from Peries's enhancements give Allelujah enough pain to blackout. Hallelujah even tells Allelujah that the former is there to do what the latter cannot, thereby saving Allelujah from becoming tainted.
