Character Description: Kira Yamato
War rages between the genetically enhanced humans known as Coordinators and those who remain unmodified, the Naturals, who dominate the Earth Alliance, in the world of the Cosmic Era. The Alliance are trying to catch up with the Coordinator's superior technology, they secretly developed its own Mobile Suit Gundam. But through a twisted fate, a young Coordinator, Kira Yamato, becomes the pilot of the Alliance's prototype and is forced to fight his own people in order to protect his friends: Mirialla Haw, Tolle Koening, Sai Argyle, etc...
Kira Yamato is the first generation coordinator with natural parents. After he graduated from preparatory school on the moon, he enrolled in an industrial college on Heliopolis colony of the neutral nation of Aube to avoid the war. Kira is a little shy but he is a really kind-hearted young man. Kira has a robotic friend named Birdee given to him by his best friend, Athrun Zala. Kira also pilots Strike Gundam.
Kira is a bit spineless for a hero but after digging further, it seems like Kira maybe the strongest protagonist...Kira is really popular with the ladies.
Also to note, throughout the series, when Kira is in battle where he is cornered or angry, there are scenes of a "seed exploding" where Kira's eyes become a sort of hollow purple. It's in this stage when Kira becomes one of the fiercest Gundam Pilots. This is what Creuset meant by Kira being the ultimate coordinator, because he is supposedly the only coordinator with that ability. This is a questionable theory though, as throughout the Gundam Seed series, there are scenes where the "exploding seed" not only showed up for Kira, but for Cagalli and Athrun as well. Also, though no one has actually seen the seed for Lacus, when she is commanding in the final battle in the Seed series, many can see her eyes have the same "hollow" look of a berserker. (Each seed for an individual is different, Kira's is purple, Athrun's is green, and Cagalli's is brownish.)
Another thing to notice is that the power of the "seed" helps increase the coordinators natural abilities, rather than make them crazy to fight. For example, when Kira is in seed mode, he has to ability to analyze and maneuver the computer data of his Gundam. Shinn Asuka in Gundam Seed Destiny, also possesses the power of "seed" but is the only "new" recruit to have this ability, and is in similar form to Kira's.
Kira pilots the ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam, and will create the Strike Freedom Gundam.
Character Description: Kira Yamato
Kira is really in a tight spot, just like Amuro Ray in the original Gundam series. He's a Coordinator who finds himself caught in the middle of the conflict where he must fight his best friend Athrun to protect the ones he loves on the side of Naturals. Obviously, he wants to end the conflict as soon as possible.
There's some friction between Flay Allster and him, since Flay has apparent hatred toward Coordinators in ther beginning, but eventually, they would come to realize that they need each other more than ever. This is the same thing for Amuro Ray as well.
Character Description: Kira Yamato
Kira Yamato is the main character of Gundam Seed. He is 16 years old and is the only coordinator on the Earth alliance's side. In order to defend his home, Kira is forced to pilot the Strike Gundam, one of the Earth Alliance's secret weapons. Kira used to live on Heliopolis, the neutral resource satellite. Kira is almost always seen with Birdy, a bird-like robot given to him along time ago by Athrun.
When ZAFT attacked Kira, he ran into Cagali, a visitor from Earth, whom he had met when word first came of the ZAFT attack. While they ran from the attack they encountered the Gundams. It turns out one of the four pilots that came to steal the new Gundams was Kira's friend from the past, Athrun Zala.
Kira now pilots the Strike Gundam in its Aile, Sword, and Launcher modes, even though he doesn't want to fight.
Character Description: Kira Yamato
Kira is a coordinator. Even as a coordinator, he still sides with the Earth forces. He used to pilot the "GAT-X105 Strike Gundam". After he and Athrun fought (episode 30), Kira was then said to be M.I.A (missing in action).
After having rested in Lacus' place, Lacus then gives him access to the new Gundam ZAFT was developing. It was the "ZGM-F10A Freedom Gundam". Then he pilots that one and the Strike got to be piloted by Mwu La Fllaga. Kira is a special kind of coordinator.
Character Description: Kira Yamato
Kira Yamato is a shy, sensitive coordinator, or genetically enhanced human. He's a first generation coordinator and has natural parents. He graduated from a preparatory school on the moon and he enrolled in an industrial college on Heliopolis colony, part of the neutral nation of Aube, to avoid the war. It is attacked by ZAFT while they're trying to steal 5 prototype mobile suits built by the Earth Alliance.
During the attack he meets his best friend Athrun Zala who is one of the ZAFT warriors stealing the suits. He is thrown into the war against his will and fights only to protect his friends, Mirialla Haw, Tolle Koening, Sai Argyle, Kuzzey Buskirk, etc., and the kind people on the Archangel, a battleship that seems to be very important to the Earth Alliance in the beginning.
Flay Allster seems to like Kira, but she has an apparently great hatred of coordinators which becomes apparent when Lacus Clyne is brought on board the Archangel. During the episodes where Kira meets Cagalli, Flay begins to act as though Kira is her boyfriend and it seems Kira and her are together. Friction comes between Sai and Kira because of this fact.
Kira meets Cagalli in the desert but they met the day Heliopolis was attacked. When Orb is attacked, Kira finds out that Cagalli is his twin sister through a photo given to Cagalli by her father just before Orb was destroyed.
Kira had to fight Athrun in battles almost every episode until Athrun and Kira had an all out fight and both Gundams exploded and Kira was reported M.I.A., missing in action, but that's just a way they say that they think you're dead (so says a member of the Archangel crew). Kira was saved by Reverend Malchio, a friend of Lacus' and a peace talker for both ZAFT and Earth Alliances.
He awakes to find himself at Lacus' house, outside, on a bed in the middle of what appears to be a green house with an end missing. He spends couple days there, forgetting the war and getting to know Lacus. News comes of an attack that is about to happen and Kira comes to a realization of what he must do.
Lacus gives him a new mobile suit, the ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam, in hopes that he will use it's power to end the war swiftly. He returns to earth just in time to save the Archangel from a ZAFT onslaught, Operation Spit Break. On the way, he passed a transport ship taking Athrun back to space.
He ends the battle and attacks both Earth Alliance and ZAFT forces while informing them about the base nearby that is about to explode. Afterwards he is greeted by hugs and smiles from the crew of the Archangel. Sai and Kira mend their friendship is very few words and Kira finds out that Flay was dispatched to a different ship.
Later on, Athrun returns to earth on a mission to capture the Freedom. He is piloting the ZGMF-X09A Justice Gundam. Instead of capturing the Freedom, he plans to find out if Kira's really alive. He saves Kira and they team up to win the battle against the Earth Alliances new 'druggies', Naturals using special drugs to be able to operate at Coordinator levels or better.
After the battle Kira and Athrun meet each other mid-way between the Gundams and tension is high. Birdie, or Torii, Kira's mechanical green bird given to him by Athrun, breaks the tension by flying over and landing on Kira's shoulder. In short, Kira smiles, Athrun smiles, Cagalli runs over and they all smile while she tells them how much of an idiot they are.
In the final battle Creuset tells Kira that he is the ultimate coordinator and he shouldn't be alive. Despite this and war Kira remains relatively the same kind person he's been through the whole series. He still cries and he may seem like a wimp, but he might actually be the strongest of them all.
