Anime Profile: After War: Gundam X

In this third Alternate Universe retelling of Mobile Suit Gundam, Gundam X takes place in the After War era following the devastating events of the Seventh Space War that raged between the United Earth Nations and the Space Revolutionary Army. The SRA made their final desperate move by initiating a mass Colony drop onto Earth, as a tragic result the human race was nearly wiped out.

Fifteen Years have passed since the end of the war, and the ruined Earth has become a desert wasteland in the aftermath of the colony drops. The post-apocalyptic After War era has become a struggle to survive for many, and scavengers struggle to make a living off of the ashes of the war. Gundam X tells the story of Garrod Ran, a teenage scavenger trying to make a living. His life changes when he is assigned to retrieve young girl named Tifa Adiel, who turns out to be a Newtype, who are evolved human beings with special powers that played a vital role in the Seventh Space War.

He eventually discovers the Gundam X, a powerful Mobile Suit that is armed with the devastating Satellite Cannon (used to destroy colonies in the war). Garrod also joins a former soldier named Jamil Neate, who is the captain of the landship Freeden. Jamil is on a mission to find and protect the remaining Newtypes and redeem himself for his past actions in the Seventh Space War.

However, many factions are seeking to control both Tifa and Gundam X for their own ends, and they soon discover that the war is far from over......
