Character Description: Ai
Ai is one of the six half-demon children that live on Horai Island. Fifty years ago she had seen InuYasha and Kikyo. In the beginning of the movie, Ai and her siblings are near the cauldron of resonance. Ai was the only one who didn't get the mark of the four war gods. The other five children told Ai to leave the island.
She does get off the island, wearing a cloak, but the four war gods found out, and Gora was sent to retrieve the half-demon. She was almost captured until Miroku, Sango, and Kirara grabbed her. She gets passed to Kagome who is riding on top of a transformed Shippo. Ai falls, as well as Kagome and Shippo, and InuYasha grabbed her and Kagome.
After Gora was defeated, Ai runs to InuYasha, and called him brother. The group finds out that she's a half demon when her hood showed her fish-like ears. She asks InuYasha to help save the others. She tells the group that she came from Horai Island, an island across the bay.
The group goes to the island along with Ai. She shows them the abandoned village, and the group saw fireflies. Eventually they hear Asagi singing:
Father once told me the hand of a demon defends; Mother once told me the hand of a mortal nurtures. Put both hands together and open the gate. Become the light and protect the children. Protect the children.
When Ai finds the other half-demon children, Asagi bops her on the head for coming back. She cried when Asagi and InuYasha go into the cauldron (though they do make it out). Also, she was the one who noticed that one of the marks on Asagi's back was gone while they were making a raft to get off the island.
