Description: Kite
Dubbed as the most controversial anime of 1998, Kite centers on Sawa, a 19-year old college student who works as a professional assassin since the brutal murders of her parents. She works for Akai, a corrupt cop who has a twisted view on the world of crime. Trying to establish independence from her bloody profession, Sawa meets up with Oburi, an assassin who is under the same conditions as her, both hoping to break free of Akai's control.
WARNING: The Director's Cut version of Kite here in America contains explicit sex scenes which were removed from the edited version and isn't recommended for viewing for those under the age of 18.
Note: Yasuomi Umetsu also created Mezzo Forte and the episode Yellow Star from Cool Devices, both of which are very similar to Kite, but are not tied in to its storyline.
