Character Description: Toji Suzahara
Toji first met Shinji at school, and beat him up soon after he found that he was an EVA Pilot. You see, Toji dislikes Eva battles because his little sister was injured during the first one. His friend, Kensuke Aida, convinced Toji to break out of the safety shelter so they could see the Eva in action. Toji gave in only after Kensuke told him that it was his responsibility to see the battle because the beating he'd given Shinji could affect the pilot's performance that day. Toji then became trapped between the fingers of the giant EVA. After entering the entry plug and watching how much Shinji suffered, he felt sorry for him and became his friend.
Later he was found to be the 4th child. He was seriously injured when his EVA went berserk durring a test run. Shinji had to destroy the Eva, and also one of his friends. He survived the incident, but lost his left leg and arm.
