Character Profile: Roxanne

Roxanne is a scholar who trains in Rock-Type Pokemon. Trainers who defeat her get the Stone Badge. Roxanne met Ash and the others when May finds a lost Poliwag from her school. She teaches the residents of Rustboro about Pokemon, so she won't accept a challenge unless the challenger takes a class there. After some time at the school, Ash battles Roxanne and earns his first badge in the Hoenn region.

Roxanne apparently knows Professor Oak because he gives live remote lectures at the school. Roxanne's desire is to learn all she can through battling.

In the manga, Roxanne travels on her Graveler and carries her Nosepass in a hollowed out book.
