Character Description: Akane Tsunemori
A newly-assigned member of the Public Safety Bureau's Criminal Investigation Division, Akane Tsunemori's first day on the job was nearly her last. Assigned alongside senior Inspector Ginoza to handle a delicate hostage situation, she had to paralyze Enforcer Shinya Kogami before he could kill the hostage – whose Psycho-Pass hue had reached dangerous levels (the hostage was later paralyzed when her hue lowered to a tolerable level). Akane wanted to leave the division after that – until Kogami thanked her for preventing him from becoming a murderer.
Akane's calm bearing seems to help prevent her hue from reaching a level that would brand her a laden criminal (a fate that forced Ginoza to become an Enforcer under Akane's command at the end of the series). This factor was the reason the Sibyl System wanted her to capture Shogo Makishima alive – in exchange for not killing Kogami when he went rogue and went in pursuit of Makishima.
Like her fellow Inspectors and the Enforcers, Akane is an authorized user of a weapon known as the Dominator, which was designed and built by the Sibyl System for use in the field. The Dominator's standard setting is Paralyze, which is engage when the weapon senses an opponent's hue has reached dangerous levels (example over 100 – forest green), but can reduce a person to an unrecognizable pulp when it reaches over 150 (steel blue) – even if the blast strikes a part of the body which nor-mally doesn't result in a kill.
