In this sequel to 'Soul Eater', the show centers on Tsugumi Harudori, who just happens to be a very timid girl from Japan... until she discovered that she's a living weapon! In an attempt to better cope with her situation, Tsugumi is forced to leave home and travel to a place that might help her accomplish that purpose – the Death Weapon Meister Academy in Death City, Nevada! However, she doesn't like the idea. She just wanted to be a normal girl and didn't want to leave her happy life at home, but circumstances dictated her fate.

Right from the start, Tsugumi starts having her share of problems. The biggest of these is having to choose between two other girls as her meister partner. One, Anya Hepburn, is a haughty heiress who seems to look-down on lesser people – that is, until she saw Tsugumi! The other, Meme Tatane, is possibly one of the most forgetful girls in the school – she's even been known to forget her own name! Of course, Tsugumi did meet one person who she strives to be more than she is and looks-up to her as an example to strive for glory, as well as finding the inspiration in trying to deal with her complicated relationship between Anya and Meme – the DWMA's top student meister Maka Albarn.
