Wrote a review for the movie National Lampoon's Black Ball. Sorry for not having any other updates, but my computer crashed Friday, and I mean crashed hard. I couldn't even boot to safe mode, it just kept coming up with a blue screen of death that said BAD_POOL_CALLER. I hadn't installed or upgraded anything recently, so I have no idea what caused it to happen, other than perhaps some evil person out there trying to stir up trouble. Well, I eventually had to end up reinstalling onto an extra hard drive I had laying around, so that got me back up and running, and now I suppose it's time to get some better firewall protection.

Wow, it's the end of January already. Where does the time go. I never even mentioned the Chinese acrobats we went to see that Sunday when Treese's mom was up here to visiting for the weekend. They were AWESOME! The way the bend and flip and fold and fly through the tiny little hoops... we've seen that kind of thing on television, but it just can't prepare you for seeing it in real life. There were a couple times when they messed up, but they always picked right up and did it again, never just skipping it because it didn't work the first time. The only downside to the experience is that the seating was extremely cramped. It's like the seats were designed for third-graders.

Added new anime profiles for Digimon: X-Evolution, Bosco Adventure, Gad Guard, Genshiken. Now that I added the ability to list anime by genre, I went and linked all the genres listed in the anime profiles.

Tuesday, January 25, 2005

Added new anime profiles for I Love You, Baby, Full Moon Wo Sagashite, Key The Metal Idol, Fresh Made Japan, and Cool Devices. Enabled an option in the forum that allows the usage of off-site avatars, and modified it so that the same height/width restrictions would still apply.

Added new anime profiles for Transformers: Cybertron, School Ghost Stories, Akazukin Cha-Cha, Boys Over Flowers, Twelve Kingdoms, Samurai Champloo, and Cyber City Oedo 808.

Wrote a review about the movie Phone. Created new advanced filter options for the Anime Index and Character Index. Right now it's just in the beta testing stage, so I'll see how it goes and hopefully get some feedback before I put it on the real Index pages.

Created a CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) file for the newsfeed XML file so that if those without newsreaders clicked on the newsfeed link the information would still be displayed in a human readable format.

Sunday, January 16, 2005

Added a mech profile for Jet Alone (from Neon Genesis Evangelion). Created an extra row in the navigation bar at the top of the page that I can use for announcements.

Wrote a review about the movie Doppelgänger. Created a new tag line for underneath the Absolute Anime logo, "Experience the power of Japanese Animation!", and wrote a little script to scroll it in conjunction with the spoiler warning. By the way, this whole time I had the word "spoiler" misspelled and nobody even said anything! I also took care of a TON of profile corrections and additions, getting rid of over a hundred e-mails.

We ordered an additional cordless handset for our Sony SPP-A2780 phone system, but it wasn't quite working right so I packed it back up for an exchange. Oh yeah, and our mattress thing... they said we could pack it up and send it back and they would send us the proper 4" mattress, or... they'd give us $24 off. Wow, $24, no way! That's sooo worth it! But seriously, we took the $24 because trying to pack up that memory foam mattress without having some kind of vacuum pack is HARD. Well, Treese's mom is coming up from Sacramento tonight to spend the weekend, so I'd better get off of here and get ready.

Added the character profile of Takuma Zaizen (from Witch Hunter Robin).

Welcome to 2005! To start off the year, I thought I'd make a few more improvements to the Forums. First, I split the Introductions and Non-Anime Topics into two separate forums and added a new forum for fan created fiction, poetry, art, and the like. After that I fixed the "Sort by Topic Date" so that it actually did sort by the topic date. Then I altered the spell check code so that it would underline all misspelled words, not just highlight the currently selected misspelled word. Next, I added the ability to delete your own account. Continuing on, I added code to automatically wrap lines which could extend the website beyond that of its specified width. And finally, I added a modification which will enable people to place a little icon next to their post.
