Happy belated holidays! I hope everyone got to have at least some kind of vacation and start out the new year on a positive note. My wife and I flew to Colorado along with my parents to visit my sister for Christmas, and that was a blast. I'm looking forward to writing all about the trip, but then I still have to write about our Christmas vacation from the year before. Damn, has it really been that long already? Things have just been so busy lately.

Tonight I got a call from my mom saying that my Uncle Tom passed away yesterday. Definitely not a fun phone call to receive. He had cancer, but the thing is... he was actually getting way better and was going to be returning to work. The future was looking brighter than it had been in a while, then apparently a nasty little blood clot turned things around real fast. And to think, Treese had one of those deadly little bastards. Her's went to her lung and brought on the pneumonia that nearly killed her. Even her doc didn't think she'd be making it out of the hospital alive, but by some miracle she was able to escape the grim reaper's frosty grasp.

This past month I've picked up the pace on putting things up for sale with eBay and Craig's List. I wouldn't exactly call it fun, but I'm glad to get the money, and more importantly to get this stuff out of the house. The things that I'm really sad to see go are all my old videogames and videogame system. Even sitting on a shelf, they still all hold a lot of positive memories inside their plastic goodliness. But I know I'm never going to play them again, and don't think they're going to go up in value, at least not enough for them to be worth hanging on to (though I was surprised to see that some of the Super Nintendo games have held their value or even went up a little bit). But my ultimate goal is to get rid of everything that we don't use, so if I can get rid of those than I can get rid of anything.
