Remember last week how I mentioned that my wife was told to come in for a chest x-ray so they could see if the lump on the previous x-ray was actually a tumor of some kind or just a clump of pneumonia? Well, she went on Sunday to get the x-ray. She choose Sunday specifically because that's when Dr. Lui works, and so far he is the most awesomeness doctor we have ever met. Mainly because he actually CARES! When my wife went in originally, he didn't brush her off like Dr. Usha R. Reddy (who told us that Treese absolutely positively did NOT have pneumonia), nor did he just write a prescription for antibiotics, he actually wondered WHY she gets it so often, and ordered tests to find out. Not only that, but he called our house several times to check up on her and to make an appointment with her to come in again.
So as I said, Sunday came and Treese went in to get her chest x-ray, so we could finally find out if she had a tumor or not. Unfortunately, a certain turn of events happened which prevented Dr. Lui from coming in, so Treese got another doctor. That in itself wouldn't have been so bad, except that this doctor didn't do crap. He refused to take a chest x-ray, and instead told her she needed to see a specialist. Thanks a lot, that was a $25 well spent. Hey, if I give you $100 will you tell me that I need to go to school to become a doctor? Ass. So she's gonna wait until next Sunday and go in again, but if Dr. Lui isn't there then she's won't be staying.

Long time, no update. Things have been pretty busy around here. As I mentioned previously, my wife had contracted pneumonia again and was taking some strong antibiotics for it. When they ran out about a week ago, she went back to the doc's for a followup where they took a chest x-rays, among other things. The x-ray revealed what she had suspected, that the pneumonia was still there. But it also revealed what might be a tumor in her lung. Either that, or it was just a clump on pneumonia, they couldn't tell for sure. So they gave her some more of the strong stuff to take and told her to come back in two weeks, since if the spot on the x-ray is still there by that time then it's a tumor. So that news has kind of been preoccupying my thoughts recently.
Also, I had jury duty back on September 11. Checking in after 5:00 the evening before informed me that I had a stay of execution, but checking in the next day said I had to be at the courthouse at 8:00 in the frillin' morning. When the time I was somehow able to get myself out of bed and down to the courthouse. Dude at the metal detector made me take off the super-small pocket knife I have attached to my key-chain (like you'd be able to even accidentally hurt somebody with that thing?), so I had to go run that out to my car for safe keeping. Once inside, we all piled into a good-sized room and I played Viewtiful Joe on Nintendo DS until they put on some jury orientation video. After that propaganda snooze-fest, they called a bunch of names at random. Those people all left for a courtroom or something, while the rest of us were told that we could go home. It was truly the easies jury duty I've ever done.
Then my aunt and uncle came to visit towards the beginning of the month. The had been in Washington for a little trip and were headed back to Vallejo. They got here a couple hours before my wife got off work, so we just chatted until she got home, then headed out to Logan's Roadhouse. This was the day before she was to get her new braces, so it worked out great since she was determined to get a steak before her braces went on. I was seriously disappointed in their kettle chips. They were so plain and bland! No flavor at all! Apparently they're made fresh, but what does that matter if they don't have any taste?
The next day my wife went in to get her braces. Unfortunately (or fortunately, as it would turn out) she arrived two hours late because they moved her appointed up by 2 hours... and without even asking her if that was okay! They had called the day before to confirm her appointment, and they told me the appointment time then, but I didn't know what time her original appointment was and they didn't tell me they had changed it. They just called to remind her of her appointment tomorrow at whatever time, and that was it. And the next morning when she didn't show up at the new appointment time, they didn't even bother to call. It's not like they were busy or anything. All they were doing was waiting for her. And yet, they didn't call. When my wife asked them why, they had no response. But turns out being late was a good thing, because they only had time to put on her top braces, which, after having them for a day, she was very happy about.
