But, it's his awareness that makes him a tool. Mind you, if he was too much of the opposite, and too humble, he'd be just as bad. Why can't he just make rap records, and move on?

Actually, I don't think he's a tool at all. He actually has the right idea. Just the wrong message. Think about this, regardless of what we think about the person, we tend to talk about what he said for weeks, sometimes even years later. I'd consider that something especially considering our narrow attention span.
