I agree that it's not video games that cause all of these shootings and stuff it's drugs, alchoal and bad parents who don't teach them what's right and wrong or poor mental stability and support as well.

I also agree with what you said earlier Shinigami EL video games are like playable books and can also build your imagination too you can become a creatative fantasy or scifi writer.

Yes I don't like him he's enabling parents to distance themsevles from thier responiblites and forcing the government to take the stand because they are to lazy or just refuse to take a stand on anything.
I'm also tired of people playing the "I'm a chirstan card" such as Thompson. Wake up people just because the person is a christan like most people in America doesn't mean they are right smart or sane. I completely agree with Ookami-san on his comments in this topic and I'd like to state a few.

It's really hypocritical for a parent to say to their how many years old child that videogames are bad/violent/provocative. Who let the kid buy or bought the kid the videogame? The parents themselves. They should do the research first, not be a hardass later. Plus, if they were to do the research, they'd find that their kid is merely engaging in an escape, interactive world. An escape from whatever they want to escape from.

And as for the hentai story someone said, my mom is the EXACT same way. It really pisses me off. Sure, I have some of the more revealing titles such as Love Hina and I"s, but I'll be honest with you, I don't read them for any kind of sexual pleasure or anything like that. The two have funny romantic comedy stories. My mom once watched Evangelion with me. She was completely amazed. "Such a rich story" she said. "Teenage thing" she said. "It's probably what's making you less and less affinite with religion." I'm like WTF?

Anyway, parents are the sole blame, not the kids. So...

violence and sex is every day kind of thing just watch tv for a hour of so during prime time and you get sex and violence censorship should be abandoned

the thing that gets me most is how he thinks he can take down industry i knew he was trying to take down games but i had no idea he was bashing on music and adult entertainment to. i'm not sure about how much the video game industry makes but i'm sure he WON'T get what he wants. and i know FOR SURE he can't take down adult and music entertainment.

...........after reading the link about dave grossman from the link Twilight Blue Kira posted i ponit out that the UK and japan are just as saturated with games as the US and yet their murder counts are lower and how in the US murder statistics have gone down in a period when games have become more common and more realistic, and thus supposedly more de-sensitizing.

umm i'm just wondering are perents allowed the spank or beat their children as punsihment in the US? i've heard people get locked up for it. (note it's noting life treating the kid might get a bit of red skin for an hour MIGHT)

As for punishments parents in the US are allowed to spank children but there not allowed to beat them.

but it pains me to see that gamers are only helping him he HAS gotten treats in his e mails and all he's doing is using them as prove. gamers that are doing this should stop. if you ask me video games are at that stage now. almost all forms of enterainment goes throgh it. i read somewhere that fantasy, horror, romance and a few other kinds of books had this kind of problem when these book first came out. tv was the same way first going off. and rap and hip hop was the same way. in time fools like him will die off or see the light and then games will have the freedom to truely shine..... that is if the gameing indurty doesn't snuff itself out....
