Has anyone figured out how to fix the disk read messege on the first generation ps2 units as of yet? I heard it also happens to the slim ps2's as well.
Its a scarry thought but I believe we should have a disscusion about it and see if we can all work this out, just in case any of us runs into this situation, its a sure thing actualy.. sorry..

i think its a laser problem. i have a friend, Raz, he knows how to fix the laser, but, for those who dont know how to, or dont know anyone who does, buying a new PS2 is probably on the cards, like moi

would you ask your friend how he can fix the problem? I made this thread so others can help and address this issue. If you can that would be great, I would also like other gamers to post here, they should considering
its about there ps2 unit.

mine does this too.. but i found that if you, when turning the ps2 on, leave the tray open so it goes to the screen that says Browser. push triangle so it goes to the version stuff. there you see something that says Diagnosis. push triangle on this, then it will come up with an on or off.. its set to off, so turn it on. then close the disk tray, push circle twice to go back to the browser screen and wait for it to load... if it doesnt load that time, reset and it should work.. this works for me ^_^ it might work for yours too
