There's a device called the Pear...

A large bulbous gadget is inserted in the orifice of choice, whether mouth, anus or vagina. A lever on the device then causes it to slowly expand whilst inserted. Eventually points emerge from the tips.

There's also the Judas Chair...

This was a large pyramid-shaped "seat." Accused heretics were placed on top of it, with the point inserted into their anuses or genitalia, then very, very slowly lowered onto the point with ropes. The effect was to gradually stretch out the opening of choice in an extremely painful manner.

torture devices...uhm...last one I saw was from Asterix and Obelix! hehe, the one where they tied the dog in the legs and hands and then it streched out.

But serisuly though...uh..I guess in the medieval ages when the tied a rope to a horse and the rope to one hand and the same with the other and then the horses ran in opposite directions so the arms were ripped off, and then they let him lie there and bleed to death

This item was used both as a punitive and an interrogational device. Punitively, it was used red-hot to mark the breast of unmarried mothers. In an inquisitory nature it was used on condemned women - convicted of heresy, blasphemy, adultery, self-induced abortion, erotic white magic and any other crime that the inquisitors selected. The claws were used, either cold or heated, on a female's exposed breasts - rendering them into bloody pulps.


A variation was called the Spider. This consisted of clawed bars which protruded from the wall. A woman was pulled alongside the bars until her breasts were torn away.

Drawn and Quartered, you slice somone's gut open in a very tiny wound tying a rope to their entrails, then publicly have a horse tied to the oposite end run away from the victim...

Flaying was also effective (Slow removal of skin from the body until the person bled to death.)

hot lead on the skin was another, also used was oil, however most often lead.(And that one hurts (I use a soldering iron regularly and my tecehr gets the realy low-quality solder with air poakets to it pops and gets all over your bare skin... safety goggles are wonderful...)

The Iron Maiden, was a boxlike structure with a series of spikes on the inside, you would put somone in it and then they would be spiked all over theeir body, motion would make the wounds hurt mroe and worsen, until either you got your information or the victim bled to death.

Burned At The Steak: This one speaks for itself. Possibly one of the most painful if all torture and execution methods, the person would be either tied to a wooden steak or crucified, then a large fire would be lit below them, leaving them to be burned to death in front of a cheering crowd.
Hanging: The person would be put up onto a short windmill like structure, A trap door under them, Then a bag put on there head, A noose tightened tightly around there neck, The trap door would fall, Sending the person usually around 10 feet, There neck would break fastly, And they would "hang" there, Slowly suffocating to death, Fun huh? :3

With burning at the steak the person would pass out from the smoke inhilation within 5 minutes, and in hanging if the nexk snapped and the nuce was done right the person would die instantly, and due to the severed spine they couldn't receve nervous input of pain, the neves in the spinal colum themselves aren't pain recepters. If that hanging failed then they would suffocate after about 10 minutes.

Ouchies, all those would hurt. I think crusifition would be another painful one. We all know hoa that ones works, no need to explain it. It'd be along and time consuming death.

Starvation would be anothre painful one, that pretty much happened to someone in my family...

What about the funky chair thing from "Sleepy Hollow"? Remember the one tat gave him all the spikes in his hand? Then if that one was part of the iron chair with all the burning hot ash in the seat of it...

That's all I can think of for torture weapons that would hurt alot. The Iron Maiden, Hanging and Streaching were othres that come to mind most.

Thumbscrews weren't particularly grusome but were effective. Other methods of torture involved impailment on spears, this caused the victim to slowly die as they slid sown the spear, this was a personal favorite of Vlad the Impailer.

There was also one I remember from a while ago that was actually used more recently, Draging somone behind a moving vehicle, a derivitive of draging somone behind a horse U would think it far more painful, that and the fact taht pavement tends to act like low-grain sandpaper at high speeds.

Bamboo under the fingernails was anotehr common one, used in aplicable countries of corse.

Boiling alive was another common one that was used by Gangahs Khan to exicute a group of traitors, and no doubt many others.

In Australilia (Or was it africa) they used to leave people in a room with a group of particularly deadly variety of ants, which would attack and kill the person in the room, poisoing them to death.

IN addition although not a torture method with the proper series of strikes one can direct somone's kneecap either upwards into their leg, or down over their shin, rendering the leg completely useless, tearing ligaments, and breaking internal blood vesels.

Drowning was nother common torture, usualy used to "detect" witches the "witch" would be tied up and dumped in a lake, if they floated they were a witch and would be burnt, if they drowned they weren't and would be dead anyway, this would however be very painful I would assume.
