Hey does anybody know about Stellvia?!?!?!

This show rocks! It might not have as much action as the other animes I watch but it's still good. I have volumes one and two and I've watched them four times and I never get tired of 'em.

Stellvia is a futureistic anime placed in the year 2056 (or somewhere around that time). The main character is Shima Katase a 16 year old girl who is taking the space shuttle the Fujiyama to the space station Stellvia.

There are 6 different space stations....
Foundation one: Akapusu: protector of Venus
Foundation two: Stellvia: protector of Earth
Foundation three: Odyssey: protector of Mars
Foundation four: El Santo: protector of Jupiter
Foundation five: Vision: protector of Saturn
Foundation six: Ultima: the frontline base

The space stations were buit to protect the planets that have bases on them that humans live on (remember this is 2056). They are needed so the second wave will not completely destroy the solar system. The First Wave hit earth in 2147 A.D. when the Hydrus Beta went super nova, unleashing a huge amount of electromagnetic radiation only 20 light years away from our solar system. The destructive energy hurtled through space at the speed of light, hitting Earth in 2167 A.D, an event now known as the the First Wave. THe wave devistated the entire solar system hitting Earth hard, changing the course of life on the planet. The disaster eradicated the idea of nationhood, and wars became a thing of the past. For the first time in history, humanity was united under one universal goal-survival.

Although mankind had survived the First Wave, the crisis was far from over. THe super nova released more than just radiation. A giant wave of deebris from the star's breakup is still making it's way toward Earth, ten times slower than the sppeed of light. This Second Wave is expected to hit the solar system in 2356 A.D., 189 years after the First Wave. Preparing for the impending disaster, humanity bands together and forays into space, building waystations known as foundations around the Earth, Mars, and other planets.

The First Wave left a mass of green gas and and space dust in our solar system. As a result, when you look out into space, you see green instead of black. Amoid the green expanse float five huge space stations known as Foundations (see list at top, each one was built to protect one of the planets with human settlements. A sixth Foundation named Ultima acts as a frontline base against the Second Wave. THe show is set in the second Foundation, Stellvia, which protects Earth.

The Great Mission refers to saving the solar system from the Second Wave. Each Foundation has an electromagnetic barrier generator. Any debris that make it through the sheild id then shot down by Ora-Avis machines. Inside each Foundation is a city that supports a school for Ora-Avis pilots.

The Ora-Avis machines are cutting-edge vehicles. Shima and the others came to the Stellvia to learn how to pilot them. You have to prove you've reached a certain skill level before you can move from piloting a Bianca class Ora-Avis to piloting a Katie class one. Also, the colors of the Ora-Avis machines are different at each Foundation. As an aside, think of humanity leaving the solar system in Ora-Avis machines as being like a bird hatching from its egg and taking flight.

The main characters are Shima Katase (girl), Kouta Otoyama (boy), Arisa Glennorth (girl), Yayoi Fujisawa (girl), Akira Kayama (girl), Ayaka Machida (girl part of the Big4), Masaru "Dia-Chan" Odawara (boy), Pierre Takida (boy), Joy "Jojo" Jones (boy), Leila Barthes (woman flight instructor), Jinrai Shirogane (man classroom instructor), Ren Renge (woman in charge of the medical facilities), Kent Austin (boy one of the Big4), Najima Gebourg (girl one of the Big4), Ritsuo Soujin (boy one of th Big4), Carl Hutter (man part of the school faculty), Michio Orihara (man headmaster of the Space Academy), Richard James (man chairman of the Space Academy).

yea the first foundation is kinda boring cause it gives background info but foundation 2 is better
