Re: Fav thing in a beyblader
Blitzkreig, I guess, means lightning thunder or similar to that..This word is also available in a english dictionary ^-^
Re: Fav thing in a beyblader
Yeah, it literally means lightning or flash war. It's basically a very mobile form of mechanised warfare, that the Germans particularly favoured in World War II. The basic principle? Attack with speed and suprise so as to prevent the opposition from utilising their defence. There's loads of other methods and theories to it that I had to learn in History two years ago, some of which are very fun to try and pronounce if I remember correctly. My personal favourite was always Schwerpunkt.
The word's been adapted and applied to lots of things since then though. For example, the Luftwaffe bombings of London which we now call "The Blitz" and there's also a type of chess known as blitz form, where players have very little time to make their move. I think it's also used in American football for something but American football isn't something I pretend to know a lot about.
Anywho, I think we can see why it was chosen as a team name for our favourite group of Russians... plus it does just sound really groovy.

I'm glad my wife knows more history than me.
xDD;
But yeah, Blitzkreig means "lightning war"
I remember in 8th grade, I freaked when I learned what 'Blitzkreig' meant.
G-Rev was still on then.

xD History was always one of my worst subjects. That's why I dropped it. I guess World War II was just one of the few topics that interested me... unlike the Industrial Revolution. God, that was a boring topic. I spent the whole time thinking 'WHO THE HELL CARES?!'AnotherFan wrote:I'm glad my wife knows more history than me.

Anyway, I've decided that Blitzy Boyz suits them better now...
