re: where to rent anime?
I've seen anime for rent at my local Blockbusters and other major video rental stores if you want something local.

My local Blockbuster has a fair amount of anime for rent. They even added an anime-for-sale section, but it's got nothing but the regulars... "Spirited Away" and stuff.

I've seen a couple other online anime rental places advertise at http://www.animeondvd.com/ Anime Forest comes to mind.
By the way, Anime Takeout is great.
You can always google "anime rental" and see what you get. Even localize it by adding the name of your area to it.

Blockbusters I guess, but at mine they don't have very many and even put in the wrong videos. Invader Zim is not anime...(Yet a very very good show)

have you tried Amazon ?
Amazon.co.uk have a whole stack of different titles, I've just started renting stuff from them in the last month - they have everything from Azu Manga Daioh! to Perfect Blue.

I felt like a race horse in a world without racetracks or a champion college footballer suddenly confronted by Wall Street and a business suit, his days of glory shrunk to a little gold cup on his mantel with a date engraved on it like a tombstone.

That's good to know about Amazon. Will have to see if they are renting in the US too.

Also. If you want something local you can always check at your local comic book store. Many comic book stores rent out anime too.
