Setsuko is the little sister of Seita. She, at times, can be a handful. However, her constant happiness helps Seita be in high spirits, even when she becomes sick. She is fairly mature for her age and handled the news of the death of her mother very well.

She enjoys candy, the ocean, and being with Seita. Seita loves his sister very much and becomes her caretaker. Setsuko becomes sick from malnutrition, and Seita has no way to give her the food she needs, so she sadly passes away.

Setsuko is the little sister of Seita. She really depends on him and normally cries in the movie because she misses her mother (who dies from a bomb attack, which critically damages her skin). Setsuko is a little girl who loves candy. She can be brave and really intelligent.
