Ren is Karin's older brother and the oldest of the Maaka siblings. Although it seems like he doesn't care about Karin at all he really has a soft spot for both his sisters. He thinks of Karin as a failure because of her 'condition' and her liking for humans.
When Ren was 14 years old, he attended an all guys boarding school he developed a hate for men and only sucks the blood of women in very perverted ways.
