Character Description: Kaito Domoto
Kaito went on a cruise with his parents, who were musicians, and a huge wave came and overturned the ship. Kaito was thrown overboard where he met Luchia, and she took him to shore, upon which she gave him her pink pearl and he was saved. Unfortunately, his parents drowned.
A couple of years later, Luchia comes back to get her pink pearl back and she turns herself human with a little help from her penguin, Hippo, and when she first meets Kaito she thinks he is rude and perverted, but a few episodes later, Luchia falls in love with Kaito, but Kaito doesn't love her back because he's in love with the mermaid who saved his life, but he doesn't know that it's Luchia. Thankfully, he does find out later on in the anime and manga.
Kaito has a twin brother named Gaito, who we see in the last episodes of the series (and in the fourth manga book).
