Once upon a time there were three hedgehogs born by Queen Alena. They were named Sonic, Sonia, and Manic. The next day there was a fortuneteller telling Queen Alena to give her children away or they'll be robots. So Queen Alena give Sonic to his Uncle Chuck, Sonia was given to someone rich, and Manic was been given to a thief. Thirteen years later Sonic, Sonia, and Manic see each other again. And they have to save their mother from Dr. Robotnik.

Sonic Underground is a lesser known Sonic series. In this series, Sonic the Hedgehog is a triplet with Sonia and Manic, two lesser known characters like Mighty the Artmadillo from Knuckles Chaotix.

As usual, Sonic has to deal with Dr. Robotnik (a.k.a. Eggman) along with his new cronies: Dingo and Sleet.

While everyone's favorite two tailed fox is absent in this series, Knuckles makes a few appearances here.
