Mion in the first season has a bit of a small part. In Watanagashi-hen people thought it was her who did everything but in Meakashi-hen you find out it was actually Shion, her twin sister. For some of the show she was locked in a small cell in the Sonozaki's torture room. She was killed by Keiichi in episode 4. She often wears her hair in a ponytail so her and Shion switched places a lot. In Meakashi-hen, she was thrown in the torture room by Shion. Shion killed and tortured many people over the course of the chapter.
In Rei, she was praised by Keiichi for having a large breast size. Both Mion and Shion have a crush on Keiichi, but Shion's love for Satoshi, Satoko's brother, is far stronger.
In short, Mion is a small character and for most of the show, doesn't do much but hope to get out of her small cell.

In reality, Mion actually is Shion's younger sister. IIRC from the games, the twins were mixed up at the time that the tattoo was placed on the heir's back. They actually grabbed 'Shion' (who then became Mion) while the real Mion took on the role of Shion. I'm not sure if this was covered in the anime or not.

RenaRyuugu97, that's not true. If you watch Meakashi-hen, you'd see that Shion was the culprit.

I feel bad for mion actally, But i get the two mixed up and thought Mion killed Rika and Shion was killed. It is very easy to mix those two up.
