Torn

Ripped in two,
A friendship divided,
A third caught in its crevasse.
On his right,
An old friend,
Who no longer voices her youthful optimism.
To his left,
The new girl,
Who, at first glance,
Appears as confused as he.
Is she the cause of this problem?
As he sits,
Contemplating in his room,
His heart,
Mind,
And relationship,
Is torn into uncollectible fragments.
