True Intimacy
Last night as I drifted off to sleep,
My friend glanced over saying;
She is not asleep yet, she just does no wish to move.
Which I realised was true,
A smile playing across my lips.
We have known eachother for five years,
And can read eachother so well,
I realized last night,
That if I were to live with someone,
They too would have to know me this well.
I can tell how she is feeling across the room,
And vise-versa.
Will I ever meet a man,
Who will want to know me that well,
Whose simple embrace can awaken in me;
The inner flames of passion ?
When a hand on my cheek can ease pain,
I will melt into the ecstasy,
Should such a day ever come.
Last night as I drifted off to sleep,
My friend glanced over saying;
She is not asleep yet, she just does no wish to move.
Which I realised was true,
A smile playing across my lips.
We have known eachother for five years,
And can read eachother so well,
I realized last night,
That if I were to live with someone,
They too would have to know me this well.
I can tell how she is feeling across the room,
And vise-versa.
Will I ever meet a man,
Who will want to know me that well,
Whose simple embrace can awaken in me;
The inner flames of passion ?
When a hand on my cheek can ease pain,
I will melt into the ecstasy,
Should such a day ever come.
