Topic deletions - too far.
Topic deletions - too far.
As I surf around AA it is a travesty to see how many threads there are.
Why has clearing out "unused" or "old" thread become so extreme? It reduces any enjoyment that used to be here.
Anyone feel the same or can enlighten me with a decent answer?

Re: Topic deletions - too far.
Only thing I can say is - I agree.
Theres some sections of the forum that don't have topics that reach pg 2, because they're deleted so quickly.
That's a bit extreme. And I used to read over older threads. Most of which are gone now

Decisions to decisions are made and not bought, but I thought this wouldn't hurt a lot. I guess not.

Tell me Nana, why isnt forgetting about our mistakes and wounds enough to make them disappear? Even now I keep calling your name. Despite my pain, I'll keep on doing that until you answer me.

AAs life span relies, in same part, to exploring what we did before. Now that has become much harder.
The "grave yard" does not in anyway make up for it. Threads should be able to stay in their created sections for longer.

agreed......
When I joined AA I saw threads that had been inactive since 05 get revitalized and brought back to life. Plus old threads hold classic AA moments, to see all those disappear is truly sad indeed.
OMG..... *realizes she's been a AA member for over a year now* *gasp*

Re: Topic deletions - too far.
I loved to go through my old posts on my profile... Sadly I can't do that anymore.
I'm guessing talking to Ken won't do any good since this thread was started by a mod, heh.

Since when does something have to make sense to be logical?

No feedback on this one Ken? Cold shoulder?
Re: Topic deletions - too far.
Well, a lot of old threads doing nothing takes up a lot of space on the server(s), right? And that in turn lags the whole system, doesn't it?
I'm just trying to think of a good reason, not choose sides. And I don't really know a whole lot about how (a) forum's server(s) like AA runs, I was just thinking on general sites and stuff.
And its probably hard to decide which threads would really have picked back up and which ones were dead for good. =/

i can see his reason, seeing as more than this forum runs off the server, so it would slow the other sites down too

AS much of a good reason that may well be, He is destroying this site when he makes such rash decisions. He could at least ask us what should go.Tsukasa wrote:i can see his reason, seeing as more than this forum runs off the server, so it would slow the other sites down too
