My Modertor Application:HitsuGaya Toushiro

Post by HitsuGaya Toushiro »

I would like to become A moderator because I love this oard and everyone in it. I love to coe here everyday just to read the excellent mod acions and each Absolute anime brings me a smile.

I was a lurker here before I joined So I know a lot about the moderator's actions.

I know all about what to mod from past experience.
I should mod the following actions:
Offensive: Sexually explicit/racist/hate speech and threats
Censor Bypassing: Not completely obscuring offensive/banned words
Trolling: Intending solely to annoy and/or offend other posters
Flaming: Clear insults of other board users
Advertising: Advertising Web Sites, Other Boards, For Sale/Rent/Trade
Illegal Activities: ROM/Warez/MP3/Cracks Begging and/or Providing
Spoiler with no Warning: Revealing critical plot details with no warning
Disruptive Posting: ALL CAPS, large blank posts, multiple hard-to-read posts, mass bumping, etc.

Would I make a good mod?

You've got the right idea about what the outlining bullet points should be for a moderator, the general part.

There's actually more to it than just that though. A moderator can't always be the silent ninja and has to step in every so often and warn people. You can't really be all to polite about it and sugar coat it neither on a silver plater. Sometiems Mods will have to step on people's toes in order to keep things balanced. Risks have to be taken as it comes with the job and priorities comes first.

Of course being outright rude and giving uncalled for comments is and flying off the handle is a big "NO"

You also need to know where specific topics goes where, and if there's a topic already made. Usually it's sometimes better to merge them though, but managing repeated topics are a minority.

Being a Mod isn't just having the power over threads/posts (darn. lol). It's more like a real job, only you don't get paid in cash for your serivces :P

In my opinion about you being a Mod? I'm a bit neutral on the fact for the moment. In the middle, if you will. So yes...I'm going to have to say "no comment".

For the record though, you have grown quite a lot since your first attempt at this thing. :)

I can give you some advice, but I wonder if that'll be cheating...

[replaced with this box here before people steal ideas]

Actually, this forum uses a democratic system, so it pretty much doesn't matter what I say for the most part. Just the voting.

By the way, you also need to get your friends in here on it to support your advancement to be a Mod.

\"No\"

Why? Because you are very very very very inpatient. You've made like what now? 4 applications? And your last one hasn't even been requested to be terminated. I gave you some advice how you could get me to support you in your last application but you completely ignored me. Also, you wont become a moderator just because you make a great application, there's more to it. You need votes, alot of comments (positive usually), you need alot of friends supporting you and...you need to make a good enough application (summarized) to convince the acting moderators to support you. What I see is that you've been focusing on one thing only, the application. And when it turns out wrong, you make another one and another one and another one, which is a sign of inpatience. You would've been better off if you just sticked to one single application and waited patiently and dealed with the critics you got instead of making a new one. If you become moderator, how will you take critisizm then?

Anyways...I think i've stated some of my opinions, it would take to much of my time to write it all down but this is the most important if you ask me.

Oh and one more thing...If you get turned down alot of times over and over again...just quit trying to be a mod, your not suited for it then.

Wow, another minus. You cant seem to take this kind of stuff. You hear way worse stuff when you're a moderator.
