I just like Akatsuki better than CP9 therefore i picked them. Simple. =] It was my personal opinion.

How does One Piece not make sense? If you've only seen the dub which skips entire story arcs, then I can see where you're coming from, but other than that, no.

There is no way in hell they are taking down Lucci, who can simply geppou in the air and rain down rankyakus (which sliced a reinforced steel warship in half). The only one that wouldn't work for is Tobi, who he could use soru to appear behind him and rokugan his ass to liquefy his organs. And would you mind telling me how they can hope to break Lucci's tekkai (think Kakuzu's iron skin x1000), which a jet gattling from Luffy couldn't scratch.

Anyone who says Akatsuki would win needs to back up their arguments, because none of you have said any reasons why other than "Akatsuki wins in a fight because I like them better"
