Site Glitches

Post by Hallow »

Lately, I have found this site to be plagued with glitches. I know that they are not problems with the computer I am using because no other websites have these problems, and I've tried coming to this site from several different computers.
Just so you know, I am using the classic skin for the site.

These are the problems I've found:

1.) The site freezes often.

2.) If I visit another site that I have tucked down in my tool bar, when I return to this site it is nothing but a giant grey background. This only goes away when I use the refresh button.

3.) When I scroll the screen up and down various icons stay where they are rather then moving. This causes every feature of the site to freeze and requires me to press the refresh button to continue.

4.) When I am typing a post it continues fine for a bit, but then every letter I press only comes up as a black line. This problem is always followed by either the grey screen from glitch #2, or the scroll error from glitch #3. The only way to continue from this is to press the refresh button. This error occured several times while I was trying to write up this report, thus requiring me to copy everything I wrote every sentance of so.

5.) Sometimes when I click on buttons such as "reply", "back to topics", "submit", etc, the site seems to think that I am clicking on the banner ads instead of the button. This causes the ad to pop up, and is followed by glitch #2 or #3.

6.) If I am currently looking at another site with this site tucked away in my tool bar, this site will suddenly pop up without warning. Whenever it pops up it is always frozen.

I enjoy this site, but these glitches aremaking it almost impossible for me to use it. Could something be done about them?

I have never seen any of these glitches, and this is the first I've even heard of them. What operating system and web browsers does it happen on? Does it happen with other skins?

It has happened to me on IE6 and IE7, both on a windows XP computer. From what I've seen these problems don't seem to happen in the default skin.

The problems also seem to fluctuate. By this I mean that the problems will be severe, then they'll dissaper entirely for a few hours, after which they return. This cycle seems to go in circle for a while.

These problems have only started recently, I'd say maybe last Tuesday to Thursday.

I haven't made any changes in the last couple weeks. Are you sure something didn't get installed on all the various computers you've tried it out on?

I don't think so.

Do you think that the problems may be due to heavy site traffic? There tends to be many users on when these problems happen, and it would explain why no other site gets these problems.

#4 has happened to me before.

see.. I think its just a glitch with your comp. The fact that Nelly has expirienced one of the glitches as well, leads me to this conclusion.

Whatever you are doing, wherever you are going, there must be something on your comp thats screwing it up. I recommend a nice clean reinstall of windows xD

Some of those have occured to me before, but that was just when my internet was acting up, and my Brother was hogging all of the Mbps with World of Warcraft.
