Korita:"my definition of love.......i cant quite say that i have one. not to say that i dont know what love is, or rather, how love feels; but i dont think that such a thing as love can truly be defined with words. the idea that you gave it, i dont disagree with, but just saying that its unconditionally is nowhere near suming up all that love is. but if i had to sum up what i think love is in a single word, itd have to be....pain. love is pain. the two go hand in hand and anyone that says that theyve been in love and havent suffered any pain, have no idea what all that love is. they only think they know. love without pain probably has the feeling of being the fullest experience, but i can only imagine it must be one of the emptiest. note i say i can only imagine. iv had love, and its the most beautiful pain youll ever suffer. when you experience pain for love, it means you're fighting for something you want; and really more than want; you feel like you're fighting for something you need and cant do without. if you "love" without all the screaming, fighting, yelling, cursing, hitting, making up, then you dont have an ounce of an idea of what it really means to want something, because youve never had the opportunity to lose it. getting it back is the best part. =]"

there is. i just think experiencing pain, and overcoming pain, is one of its larger parts. =@ there enlies the challenge. =@

I'd say love is a lot more than pain. It's the joy of having someone who understands you and are able to share your feelings with, someone who you want to spend your life with. When they go away you miss them more than you ever thought possible.

To me the love you speak of is the type too many people have to get used to. If you love someone enough, all/most of that is avoidable.

i agree to an extent. i agree with the love and understanding and the missing part, but i think if youre in a relationship where you never have the chance to disagree or get into a fight, then thats hardly love. thats more of a friendship with benefits to me. >.> i think in love there will always be some difficulties. but, perhaps, people just love in different ways. >.>

Lol yeah I know. I think some people need some sense slapped into them. I mean if you're getting hit and still love that person, WHY? If they're hitting you it means they don't love you no matter how much they say they do >.>

but i think that if youve never had the experience of losing love and trying to gain it back then you cant really appreciate at. as they say you neevr know what you have until its gone. you wont know just how much love means to you until you lose it.

and they may love you, they just may have some personal trauma that makes them show it in ridiculous ways. >.>

lol that's true but if you've never lost the first person you love then obviously you're doing something right

such cases when you never have the opportunity to lose the one you love, especially the first one. what have you learned if you dont lose them, even if only for a brief time?

I'd say missing someone counts as losing them if only for a small while.

i dont. you can miss someone even when theyre right next to you (trust me on this one.). you can say you miss someone knowing youll see them the next day or even a few hours/minutes/seconds time. if you dont have the opportunity to actually LOSE them though, it doesnt count for me.

as for that missing them when theyre besides you thing, with that, people get emotionally disconnected. time passes, things change, love fades. tragic but true. =/
