yeah, Watch all of Digimon, All of Dragonball, Then DragonBallZ
And if those aren't your style, then watch Tengen Toppa Gurren Langan. It'll take you for a ride you'll never forget.

Any info on what kind of anime do you want?
Something fun? Something with a good story? Something love-based? Something tragic? Mecha battles? Samurai?
Giving us some hints can be useful to give you some titles according to your tastes.
Without knowing anything, I might tell you:
Basilisk - awsome samurai-battles
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - Gainax strikes again, mecha and action at max speed
Ouran Host Club - love comedy that made me laugh a lot
Excel Saga - total nonsense and madness!
Gungrave - huge mafia story with friendship and treason: awesome
Claymore - if you don't mind to wait for a 2nd serie, that's a good anime. Great graphics, nice battles.
These are just a few, tell us what do you want and we'll help you even more

Ouran High' stays interesting if you're into love comedies.
If you're into horror/violence/gore - Elfen Lied and Higurashi no Naku Koro ni are good too.
If not; just go back to your roots and watch the classics. Like Pokemon, Sailor Moon and all that.

DearS is another funny love drama, but with more good-looking girl characters. (so geared to boys)
