08th MS team

I bought 08th ms team after seeing a cool AMV and reading good reviews. I loved the series but it was over too soon. I am new to anime so have had little to comapre it with. What did you think of this anime. Oh yeah and Aina Sahalin was fit!

Hmmm I liked the characters and didn't think the too stereotyped. I agree I would have liked to have seem the characters develop a little, but that I guess is more due to time than anything (11 episodes is short. Each character was however likeable and they were not ridiocusly heroic. Battle scenes the best ive seen out of a film. My only major critisism is the length. But Norris he's just so damn cool!

That is correct <Mobile_Turn_X>, Shiro's Gundam at the end was called the Ez-8. And The 08th MS Team is 13 episodes, though many did not like that 13th episode. Likly because it sort of contradics the ending of the 12 episode The Shuddering Mt. Pt 2

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed 08th MS Team, it just isn't as good as the other Gundam stuff.

The Gouf Custom fight scene was pretty cool, but I thought the Kaempfer fight scene in 0080 was 10 times cooler, taking on 4 prototype mobile suits (Two ultra high performance GM Sniper IIs, and Two Mass production type Guncannons), as well as 3 high performance GM Commands (Which had superior perfomance compared to Ground GMs, and were armed with high velocity 90mm rifles, capable of piercing heavy armor, which were significantly more powerful than the Zeonic 120mm Zaku Machine Guns, and the EFSF 100mm Machine Guns.). And don't get me started on the Nue Ziel MA battle, Talk about going out in a blaze of glory!

Hmmm I am thinking of getting more gundams. The only think that turns me off is the space fighting. I mainly got MS team because I love realistic land battles. Flying around in space does not appeal to me as much as land stomping. As well as the original gundam can anyone reccomend me some realistic mecha.

The fighting in space was what mobile suits were made for in the first place. They were meant for dual roles as a space and ground unit. Think of them as oversized powered armor because the book Starship Troopers was one of the biggest influences for the original Gundam.

But if you want mechs use almost exclusively as tanks, AT Votoms is an old series made around the time of the first Gundam. Some times the Votoms are used in space but most combat will happen on the ground in that series. The Votoms are also no where near as big as the mobile suits.
