if there is no honorfic it shows a close friendship and and great knowledge of the person ex. Inuyasha-chan but for like Miroku it would just be Inuyasha I think it's been awhile since I read the manga with honorfics explained

In short, what you had was bang on the money for Japanese people. It is kind of rude to say someones name alone in Japan. BUT, as an outsider to the culture (basically, being a white guy in Japan) you are almost expected to call people by their first names only, because the Japanese understand that this is how it is done in the west.

So they take no offence when you call them by their first name only, and they will often call you by your first name too.

-dono*comes from word tono which means lord, higher than sama utmost respect
-chan*express endearment, mostly toward girls, also little boys and among lovers, sense of childish cuteness
-kun*end of boys names, express familiarity or endearment, also used among men friends and when adressing someone younger

-Sempai: Used to adress a senior in an organization, or someone who is higher in social standing.
-Kohai: Used to refer to a junior in an organization, or someone who is in lower social standing
-Bozu: Usually reserved for bratty, annoying boys.
-Sensei: Literally "One who has come before." Used for masters of any profession.
-no honorific: Used only by very close friends or spouses. Considered an insult if not earned.
-Neesan: older sister (formal)
-Neechan: older sister (informal)
-Niisan: older brother (formal)
-Niichan: older brother (informal)
