It's not so much a "AHH HE'S GONNA KILL ME!!!!!!!!!!!" kind of scary as it is a creepy stalker-like kind of scary. He seems like he's the kind of person who becomes obsessed and will never leave you alone. Like he'll folow and watch your every move and always be around the next corner.
