To understand why Ren does that you have to pay attention when they say why in the episodes. Also the only real whore in that series is Ms. Mitsuka. :sick:

Most animes over fifty episodes tend to be pretty bad in my opinion. They tend to get a bit repetitive. Sadly, however, they also tend to be the more popular animes. i.e. Inuyasha, Dragonball, Bleach. etc.

I've only seen two animes over fifty episodes that I thought were fairly decent: Fullmetal Alchemist and Rurouni Kenshin (though I haven't seen all of it)

Full Metal Alchemist was only one episode over 50. That shouldn't count. And I think the anime is better if its at least 100 episodes.

Well some anime that are short are actually quite good, we have Gungrave for example, Hellsing, Samurai Deeper Kyo and Get Backers....None of them are over 70 even, and they are all great animes.

I personally think that 40-50 episodes is just right for an anime, as many of my favorites are around that length (Patlabor, Combattler V, Tobikage, Ideon, Dendoh, etc...). 26 Episodes can be done right, if handled properly (such as Eden's Bowy and RahXephon), but most of the time, I find that it is insufficient (Trigun for one example, had little to no development for both the Gungho Guns, and Knives, and I felt that they were mishandled.). In most cases, anything less than 26 episodes is not enough for an anime IMO (An exception for this would be Cutey Honey '73, New Getter Robo and Megazone 23).

However, if you think that most animes over 50 episodes stink, then you need to watch more anime. All of the anime you have listed are just the mainstream stuff, which is not characteristic of all long anime series. There have been many great animes over the years that have had 50 episodes or more episodes. Off the top of my head, I can name at least a dozen great animes, including Legend of Galactic Heroes, One Piece, Getter Robo/G, Mazinger Z, UFO Robo Grendizer, Doraemon, Gatchaman, Space Battleship Yamato, Dragonball (The ORIGINAL Dragonball, not that DBZ and GT crud), The Universal Century Gundam sagas (Which in total, span more than 150 episodes combined), etc... In fact, one anime by the name of Sezae-San is still running in Japan, more than 30 years after it first started. One would think that there is a good reason for its length.

Rurouni Kenshin: 90+ episodes
Ranma 1/2: 150+ episodes
Detective Conan: 300+ episodes
Lupin the 3rd: 200+ episodes

Although my most hated just happens to also be a long series.

Both untrue and incorrect. Not counting the movies, Pocket Monsters has approximately 488 episodes. The longest anime ever is Sezae-San, with more than 2500 episodes and counting.

Could you please name a website? I used data from the Anime News Network to verify my information, an enormous resource collection of information for every anime series, director, staff member, etc... from the 1960s, up to the present.

Also important to note is that Pokemon is a series that originally started in 1997. A standard anime broadcasts an episode a week, meaning approximately 52 or 53 episodes. For Pokemon to run more than 800 episodes, it would have to run continuously for 16 years. Even for an anime as highly popular as Pocket Monsters, this would be highly improbable, and very difficult to do.
