Surrender was a valid option, the seal was not active. To admit defeat then and there would have prevented loss.

He isn't evil,he only used that card cause he wanted to win.He just want's to win at any price,I don't think that it was a good idea to use that card,but hey nobody is perfect!!! :color: :color: :color:

i think yami is just the kind of guy who would wanna win at any rate. Well he plays honestly but goes to the limits. I don't mind that cuz he still is a nice guy. And besides as long he plays fair, there's nothing wrong with it.

He did use that card to win- but if he hadn't played it; no one's soul would have been at stake and it wouldn't have mattered if he lost. So really he brought it on himself when he lost Yugi's soul.

I don't know if I'd go far enough to call him evil though... Maybe a bit confused with his actions - but he's not blood thirsty evil like Y.Bakura is.
