i do not know if any1 has posted or read this link already, but if u do not believe that God exists, then you should read the link. It is really pretty obvious, once you studied science deeply enough, that science bows its knee's to "religion". if you have never seen God's power working miracles, nor have ever really understood the "word of God" and how amazingly it was written, then you simply lack knowledge on this things, everyone has their own views on things, their own source of evidence, but nothing can be further from the truth. As you start to open up and receive this knowledge, u find that all things will come together. large statement to say i know. The best thing you ever will probably ever find, is the truth that God is for all of us, and not against us, despite of all the things we thought we have seen, read or heard.

Oops, i cannot post links due to my shortage of posts!
refer to my signature. It is pretty lengthy, but for those who are simply in denial about everything, humble urself and take time to read the scientific facts and turn from ur old beliefs :D

btw, god created the earth, and man, for the sole purpose of loving man(how can god be love, and not have an object of love?). man sinned. so the earth was cursed(not what god intended). oh but god had a redemption plan in mind. he basically chose the jews as "his people", and the rest of the world are the "gentiles"

so bascially religion all originated from the JEWS, and as they subsequently disobeyed god, and 'created' many idols, made of gold wood, bla bla; and worshipped those 'idols'. of course God never needed to be a statue, he is a living God. he is invisible, which is why so many people doubt his existance today! so anyway, here comes the messiah(jesus, who IS god, but jesus on earth is God in flesh so that he could die for all of us.

unfortuantely, most of the god's own people did not believe in jesus (the jews), and the marvellous work which he did to redeem all of them (dying on the cross). They also did not believe that he was the son of god, and god himself. only his disciples and a few other jews did. the jews then spread the "gospel" to the gentiles, and then the gentlies believers called themselves christians.

so basically the christians objective is to share the gospel with the whole world (including jews, for it is not God's will that any should perish!), and reconcile man unto God! what a groovy story isn't it?

Red, not really. You basically just preached to us that god created man and since Eve sinned, we were all punished. From there you just basically said that the Jewish religion is what we should believe in. Just because Jews are "God's people" and that the rest of us, whether it be Christian, Chatholic, Protistan, Lutheran..(ect) we are just following the wrong beliefs and religon?

Yea, okay..

Why is this thread in the Other Adult Discussions forum? Shouldn't everyone be allowed to reflect on the matter?

So I didn't move it..but..er..uhm..I don't know. ](*,)

Okay what ever you say canner 8)

Any ways..

"Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.
- Albert Einstein, in The New Convergence"

So does that mean that..er..uhm...how do I word this??*taps chin intellectually*

Okay, I think what he said was totally absurd!! At the time Albert Einstein stated that, it was when religon was a must-have. Just like when you were ten and you had to have all the pokemon cards or else you wouldn't be cool. (I think I used a bad example) What if I didn't want to follow the religion? So many what-if's yet so little internet access (Realllllly gotta stop coming here as often...it's becoming a bad habit)

With the second part of this statement I don't get it at all!!! Does it mean that if we didn't put science into religion then we couldn't see what we're believing!!?!?!? That's like an oxymoron!!!

Religon isn't based on science. If we put science into it the we'd belive that cells were the creator of all man and start praying to a module of a simple cell!! I don't get it..

Why couldn't people just say what they meant when they said it. Alooooot less confusing for me.

LOL, okay, I'll sum it up, what I think he was saying is that while science is great at discovering new and incredible things about the universe we still can't understand everything, and that religion and the idea of "God" is still essential to our being. In addition to this, howver. If we follow religon without seekign knowledge on our own, we will forever be blinded wot hte true wonders and mysteries aof this universe, and indeed, what we percieve as reality.

That's my interpritation...

Becasue, I think alot, and that I took that phrase and analyzed it, the clech'e of"Blind Religon" has to deal with following a religon mindlessly without questioning what is true and what is not, refusing to expand your horizons to see what parts are metaphor, and esentialy shutting out all otehr information other htan wha is in your religon, in this specific case The Bible.

So Blind Religon is following religon without reason, I.E. the world was created in 6 days, Adam and Eve were the first humans and were created from clay, etc.

Science can be defined and using what is known to find what is not know through experimentation, and to see what is factual.

Now then, applying this to what Einstein said. (at least the last half.

The idea of Blind Religon, is refering to people who blind themselves to the wonders of what exists because they see the bible as the ONLY truth, and that they become blinded by that.

The idea that sciecne is lame without religon, comes from the fact that without religon as a guide there would be no ability to see beyond what we know, nad there would jsut be nothing when we couldn't understand something, like the reason everyone is so different, in spite of being so similar, or what lies for us after death.

Yea, okay..
you don't get it, eve alone did not sin. Eve ate the fruit, and gave it to adam. basically they both sinned.
Well, i also know it is pretty bold to underline that the jewish religion (God without messiah) or christianity (God with the messiah) is the only religion to believe in. But as you know, all our truths come from the bible. So we use it as reference accordingly. its interpretation of the how everything came together, and developed to what it is today, sheds a lot of light on the world we live in today. All other religions are bascially philosophies( well i know people may disagree, but its pretty obvious. i don't mean to force this on anyone), and does not shed light on anything, yet all other religions follow their "deities" blindly, and no matter what happens, this religious people are always faithful to their "idols" and never questioning their existance or bla bla.
Have you ever noticed? it is only christianity that has been so attacked throughout history, concerning truth and everything. it is only the christians or people who have recevied "invitations" into the loving arms of a God, that question his existance so much, questions his purposes, his abilities, his love, his goodness, and end up blaming God for everything. every wonder why?

when u understand christianity or judaism, u understand why you are on planet earth. let me strengthen the fact that it is impossible for the earth and the whole univerese to happen by accident. and that the whole world could not have come out of nothing. impossible. read the link in my sig. anyway, to strengthen my case, the bible, which many people deem falliable, have made prophecies which have came true, over the years(israel scattering through the whole world, and then coming back as a nation is one of these prophecies. the world wars is another and also the tsunami).

I also see you do not really understand who are christians, catholics blah blah

really, everything came out of israel, and traveled to the rest of the world (gentiles) this gentiles who believed in the israel God, called themselves christians, and as churches were planted all around the world, the inevitable thing had to happen, division. so basically catholics, protestants, lutherans, preysbytarians, anglicans, methodists are all from the "jewish religion" Although everything may be a tad bit different here and there, in their believes. they really believe in the same God.

Now of course, we are arguing on the topic of whether God exists, but not which god exist. but of course, no other religion would ever fight so hard to publish their god, except christianity. strange again isn't it. And then of course, when people hear about a loving God, they cannot accept it. But all the other religions are so happy and peaceful. lol

blah i've said too much.

Why couldn't people just say what they meant when they said it. Alooooot less confusing for me.

Ur confusion is understandable... science HAS been so blind this past few decades. Basically everyone has accepted the theory of evolution or the big bang, except a few christian scientist. So much so that science was willing to bow its knee, and derive everything from the evolution theory. Science has bent or ignored their former undisputable theories to fit themselves into the evolution theory.

if you studied science enough, you would really understand what einstein meant. Science is VERY VERY bizarre and complicated, it is really like a mystery. There are many things in this earth that science cannot explain. the whole universe is a mystery. The reason why society as a whole has accepted this kind of theory is because, oh well, science sounds so logical. but God does not sound logical. and these ignorant people have no idea that evolution theory is so much more illogical, then creation. That is why science without religion is lame, we derive science on our own understanding on things, not knowing how God works. And then we face walls, and come up with what we call "Theories". But if we have religion, everything would make sense.

Then again, If we just followed religion blindly, It is like blind faith. it is pretty much like a "placebo" it would be no good ( although people for the past thousands years were like that )
Einstein is a person who has understanding on how everything could have possibly came together. If we have science, then science would "Back up" religion, if you study it enough. they are really partners.

like for example, humans were made from the dust of the earth.(according to the bible) yet in science, we found that the body, is really made from dust. Many bible principles that many jewish people simply obey as a word from god, science has found that it really is like a jigsaw puzzle fitting into a big picture, and that it really makes a lot of sense.
mind you they had no modern science thousands of years ago.

Red; you are essentially telling me that creation is correct and that by creation I have one more rib than a woman... okay that's a bit extreme, and I do see your point, that religion still has a purpose to may people, however, something else to understand is that religon was first created to act as a filler for things we did not know, it then became a method of control.

People needed an explination for how this world was created, and WHY we exist. t was easier to say "We exist to please God, and we exist becasue he created us tp please him." ((And yes, from that period it would be a 'him'... sorry women, but you weren't all that respeced in those times...))

Science has come up with some crackpot theories as well (The big bang for one...) however nw there are new theories emerging that are beginning to become mroe accepted, and those are the theories of Quantum Physics. In quantum physics you look at things, not as set things but tendencies and possiblites, meaning that in all likelyhood, this earth, this universe, do NOT exist independently of our input, and that our physical bodies are actualy representations of mental images from ourselves and those around us, therefore it could be said, that the universe has existed for an infinite ammount of time before, and after, you existed, as simply a plane of consiousness with enough substance to form into soild tendancies that we call planets, stars, moons, and ourselves. And that consiousness is our own, and everyone is linked togeather through this universal consiousness, and in fact, every particle has another particle exactly like it somewhere else in this universe, meaning that we are in fact, linked both physicaly and mentaly to each otehr.

as to the question of "Why" we exist, we try to find a reason for this however the most sound reason I cna think of right now, and I change my standing on this often, as I think about it alot, is that tehre simply is no right answer. something as, if you will excuse the word stupid, as "to please God" is meaningless, and something complicated that would be determined by science is also stupid, we exist simply to better ourselves and to exist is to be esistant, and nothing more.
