I refuse to include animes such as Hamtaro or Pokemon, since these types of anime are aimed for a different demographic audience. I would have to say that the animes I hate the most are Neon Genesis Evangelion (TV Version and EoE only. I found the manga to be an interesting read.) and Gundam Seed Destiny.

sigh... Every time i say this I get some outraged fan going "grr! I like that show!"

I will be placing my answer in spoiler tags, as much of my rant will involve spoilers. It is a very long response, (which I will be saving into a text file for future use) and you don't need to read it if you don't want to.

I hate it because of its wasted potential. It had the potential to be one of the best, but alas it failed ignomiously. It suffered from a myriad of different problems.

Seed Destiny's story and plot suffered due to negligence on the part of Director Mitsuo Fukuda and Head Writer Chaiki Morosawa. This led to a disjointed second half of the show, with no clear idea whom the story was centered around. This also lead to many other problems, such as having a total of 6 freaking clip shows. Quite inexcusable. Other problems include illogical shifts in character development, and by far the worst romance in all of Gundam (I KILLED YOUR SISTER!11 NOW BE MY GIRLFRIEND PLS!!!1111).

Characters were probably affected the worse, with Kira turned into a Lacus-Robot, Athrun turned into an indecisive p**ck, and Cagalli turning into a simpering idiot. Mwu La Flaga's resurrection was also disgusting, ruining his great sacrifice and emotional scene from SEED. Though I was indifferent to SEED, Mwu's sacrifice did touch upon a nerve, and I did feel quite emotional by his passing. His so-called resurrection spat upon this great and noble sacrifice. Even newer characers were not immune to this factor, Shin was shafted, as he was pushed out of the spotlight. I remember reading an interview stating that Shinn's VA was quite angry at how the story turned out, as he was a large Gundam fan, and was quite thrilled and honored to play the lead of SEED Destiny. And Lunamaria, once my favorite GSD Character, was forced into an illogical and idiotic relationship with Shinn. Rumor has it that the two were put together because of the proliferation of Japanese Shinn X Luna Fanfics, in an attempt to please these "writers".

Another reason I hate SEED Destiny is its derivative and uninspired mecha designs. Instead of taking time to expand and create new designs, they instead chose to rehash old ideas like the Zakus Goufs and Doms, throwing them in. I will say that I loved the Ginns Cgues, GuAIZs and Dinns of Seed. However, the new and rehashed designs clashed badly with these older designs, as the older Models looked more advanced than the newer mechs. And lets not forget the Destroy Gundam, which is just a rip off of the Psyco and Psyco Mk II Gundams. Now as the series went on, the mech designs became more and more ridiculous. I liked the original Freedom (despite the fact that it was a blatant Double X Clone), but the Strike-Freedom was just ugly. Especially the tacky gold joints. The Akatsuki was a rip of the Hyaku Shiki. And I found it ridiculous how vastly overpowered all the mechs were. It was as if Kunio Okawara tried to see how many guns, swords and funnels he could cram onto a mech.

Now for the battles. Boring. Yes, I said it. As a fan of Zeta Gundam, Dunbine, Macross, and other Real-Type mech animes, I was expecting smaller and more realistic skirmishes, involving tactics and strategies. What I was not expecting was this "stand around and get shot" crap. Not once did I feel that grunts were capable of taking out the Gundam units, which lead to a sense of unexcitement, and boredom. What captivated me in so many other Gundam animes was the sensation that the heroes were not invincible, and the sense of struggle. This sensation is all but missing from Seed Destiny. The only time it appears is when a main character appears.

GSD's ending was also terrible. A boring and completely one sided absolute victory. I am aware that Final Plus did improve the ending, but its still stands that GSD should not have required another ending. Lazyness abound. As I recall, the lead Character Animator was quite angry at Morosawa's poor actions and performance, stating that she was the reason for the mistakes and fillers. He also stated that he would redeem his honor by doing Mai Otome well. However, what I consider to be the most condemnatory statement was Mitsuo Fukuda's public apology. Fukuda was GSD's director, and he stated that he failed in his objectives in creating Gundam Seed Destiny, and hoped he would do better next time.

It has little or no point what so ever, it's just an excuse to have massive amounts of mindless animated violence with no reason. That's all Giest was there for, to fight and kill. He had no goal, no drive to protect any one. He was just there to kill. The most wasted plot I've ever seen.
