The ominous grey of the heavily overcast clouds binds so tight it seeks to block even the sun. I start to slip into a daze with the calling of the crows as the rain softly begins to fall. While the water trickles lightly upon the too dry earth the air is filled with a scent unfamiliar yet so close. The lillies nod to and fro with each kiss of the coming storm, and it is then i think of you.

so far away, as if a passing dream come and gone too soon, i wonder how you fair. does the sun kiss your cheek like that of all the flowers of the world, would that i in turn could be such, then there would be no other flower but you,.. My princess, dearest heart, you are one who yet lifts my soul on high, yet introduces me to pain the likes of which is only known to oblivion.

pain unknown, and never purposely given, i strive to find the path that will lead a heart of ninety-nine nights, for i am that which hath never seen the sun.
a pale moon's knight i know only the starts,...those that i wish upon for your happiness, and fortune,....and those that shine like your eyes. Yet all is a dream so far away.

The chill of the rain strikes my senses, an assault of reality on my illusionary fantasy, and as the sun sets and the storm wind blows an ease of respite promising comforted slumber. i pray that only the light shine upon you, defeating your darkness with such wonderous smiles. Or is it all false hope?

i pray you tell, what worries and fears do entreat on your heart looking to have you shed tears in delusion of loneliness. Let me take away your tears, never for you to worry,...i was but a soldier,...a knight for a princess,...to fight and to die in the name of that love is what i was to do, yet it is you who named me a prince,...and i know naught of what to do.

As i slip in and out of sleep, i turn from the window and head to my bed,..all the while looking back,......to the rain, to the still of the approaching night,..and to you... with an out stretch of a hand i sigh a wish upon the early stars.

"take my hand,....show me the way."

well that was to be expected, but i haven't full out said to her what i want to say,..and thats because i don't want to put her in any awkward stances. things like this can be difficult, and i dont want to drive ani away with my foolishness,...so though the joke hit a nerve it didn't have grounding yet,..*sigh* anyway.

as of yet i'm still just a songbird belonging nowhere, to noone,..but the way i see it i have no cage, and its by choice i remain here to chirp in ani's ear. even if things never change.......if i never belong to anyone, at least i can be at her side.
