In the April edition of "unofficial Pokemon Collecter" there were some rules on playing YuGiOh.

To sacrifice a card, you remove it from the field and put it in the graveyard.

The graveyard is the name of the discard pile. Cards that have been used. I strongly recomend you download the rulebook from the website.
